Akhanda Yoga® is a wholistic approach to teaching a hatha class with an emphasis on balanced sequencing of postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), relaxation, mantra and meditation. A yogic theme is used to weave various aspects of yoga theory and practice together in a class that offers a powerful experience, in a mindful way. An Akhanda yoga class promotes increased mobility and ease of movement, building strength and stretching muscles and focusing the mind which help to release tension and stress, and balance emotions leaving students feeling healthier and calmer in their physical, mental and emotional body.
Yoga Classes
Suitable for adult beginner to intermediate level students. Class sizes are small (maximum 7 students per class) allowing for some specialized attention to the students various physical needs.
Classes include a moderate to vigorous flow of postures, balancing all directions of the spine and deep relaxation, suitable for beginner to intermediate level students. Students are guided through the postures and are mindfully assisted, as needed, to adjust position for improved alignment and increased benefit within the pose. Emphasis is placed on finding ease in a pose, while building strength and improving mobility and flexibility.

Private Therapeutic Yoga Sessions
Individual instruction can be incredibly rewarding and beneficial for both physical and emotional challenges, to effectively prevent injury and illness, and to bring the body back to being whole.
One hour long yoga sessions are customized and designed, to address individual movement needs and health goals. Students learn ways to move with greater ease and develop strength to promote the release of tension in muscles and joints while improving mobility and flexibility. Students gain greater awareness of their bodies and cultivate new patterns of movement to promote a greater sense of freedom and movement that is pain free. During each session, students are guided through therapeutic movements to address physical concerns and work towards personal wellness goals to integrate whole body wellness - physical, mental and emotional.
Suitable for all levels, and taught with mindfulness and sensitivity in a safe and supportive environment.
